Stoo OversoldGuitars, guitars, guitars! Cool things. Toys. Tools. My daily medicine to stand all the weirdo-stuff on earth... You can pick up an acoustic, fiddle around and sing a song. You can take them almost anywhere and have a nice party with some beers... Doesn`t work with a piano...

I always wanted to play guitar, since i saw Duck Chuck Berry with his Gibson ES335 on a TV-show. When i was six years old, i got this cassette from my dad, called „Original Country and Western Music“. Well, what a title! But, hey, it started off a lot. I still like c&w very much and i just love to play the songs of JRC and others with ray with our country-rockabilly-punk-trash-band.
At age eleven i got my very first guitar and off i went with practising... For me it was heaven, not always for my parents...
The first band i joined was at age sixteen, nothing serious, but the smell of the rehearsal room, hmmmm... the uncomparable perfume-mix of sweat, smoke and beer. You might call it the smell of freedom, revolution, sex or whatever. Main thing, we were hidden, underground and could be ourselves.
In 1986 it got a liitle more serious with „Phon Roll“, a nice little band from Bern. First we did this clubrock-thing that occured in the mid-eighties in London. „Nine below zero“, „The Pirates“ and stuff like that was big fun to play. Mick Green of the pirates ist still one of my all time-fav`s as an axe-player. About that time i was also in the picking-thing, Mark Knopfler style. Turned out to be a good school. Phon Roll released five records in ten years and played on nearly every stage in Switzerland. We split up in 1996, usual diagnosis – different goals... By that time, Ray had already released his first record, which i still like very much. I was pleased to get Ray`s phone call, asking me for playing with him. That`s now more than eleven years ago and we still play together. Any questions left?

Gear? Oh my... I just love to check out cool stuff! And if i had the money, well, i`d sure be in need of some extra storing space... How about a `62 Bluesbreaker? An original `59 Bassman? A Jester Oahu? A nice old Gretsch, a `63 Strat? Another Airline, an old Stringmaster, an `57 unburst Paula with Alnicos, a Hummingbird or just a red `62 SG? Well, i need to be a millionaire...
Stomp boxes? Slurp!... My personal heaven! I just ordered a Foxrox Octron and i wait for the day to order a „Paradox“. I ordered a „King of Tone“ last year, but the list of KOT-lovers is long – you wait two years, but – i think it`s worth it! A month ago i found an old CE300, one of the best chorus units ever made.
I strongly recommend Fulltone-products, stuff from „Analog-Mike“ and Robert Keeley (what a compressor this guy designed!), George L makes great cables, Harmonic design make PU`s with great tone, at reasonable prices, too! Hopper pedals? An old 808? My heart jumps!

Wishes? Yeah, redesign and rebuild the Roland SDE3000, guys!! I still use my old one and i don`t know, how long it`s goin` to survive. Or – a custom pedal-board built by the one and only Pete Cornish? Yum... Or - is there anyone out there, who would sell me an original „Truly beautiful disaster“? Well you see – i`m an addict... have mercy on me, i ain`t a bad boy! Im just in love with all that stuff that makes my world a funny one...

Hope to see you at one of our shows, or maybe in thirty years somewhere out there on a camp fire party. I`ll be there!
