Tommy Knuckles grew up in the western side of Berne. He started to play the trumpet by the age of nine in a youth brass band in Bümpliz. After a few years of military marches he found out that there is more that can be done with a trumpet – and so he started his musical education at the Swiss Jazz School in Berne. He studied with Daniel Schenker, Stephan Geiser and Bert Joris and made his diploma in the 2003. Today, Tommy is a member of the Swiss Jazz Orchestra, Probabilistic Causality, Nicole Eggenberger Quintet and you were also able to see him on stage as a guest musician of Bands like Züri West, Patent Ochsner and Maozinha. Knuckles joined Ray Wilko’s Band in 2002 when DAKTARI was made.
